Dunkin gave Spidey D, its Spider Donut character, one day to offer free iced coffee. Customers could enter a promo code from noon Eastern on October 21, while supplies lasted. Each eligible entry produced a certificate for an iced coffee of any size, valid for five days after entry and limited to one per customer. Dunkin made one million codes available; it has not reported how many were claimed or redeemed.
The purple-frosted donut also has a line of Halloween collectibles. Dunkin listed a $9.99 Spider Donut keychain and an $8.99 Mystery Boo Box containing one of four surprises at participating restaurants. A glow-in-the-dark bucket holds 50 assorted Munchkins; Dunkin says $2 from each bucket sold will go to its Joy in Childhood Foundation. A separate online Spidey D merchandise collection was priced from $22 to $100.
Dunkin turned one Salem, Massachusetts, restaurant into “Spidey D's Horror House”. The limited October makeover at 152 Washington St. has themed décor, merchandise and a fortune-telling machine. Visitors need no ticket or reservation and can come during normal store hours.
Another character lineup is next. Dunkin plans to bring an Avengers: Doomsday menu and collectibles to participating restaurants November 4, including a $14.99 Doctor Doom tin filled with 25 assorted Munchkins. Doom's Orders Energy uses Green Apple Dunkin' Zero and Purple Marshmallow Cold Foam; the Wakandan Daydream Refresher also uses the foam. Both ingredients are on Dunkin's Halloween menu.
