The Wendy’s Company launched a $1.99 nugget promotion on August 24 that requires another purchase and an app offer, following a summer Frosty deal available through more ordering channels.
The offer covers 10-piece Classic or Spicy Nuggets at participating U.S. restaurants through September 27. Customers must download the app, register an account and redeem the offer there. Wendy’s says it refreshes daily. The nugget promotion’s announcement and terms
The release leaves the accompanying purchase open. The advertised $1.99 is therefore an add-on price; the total order also includes whatever else the customer buys.
The daily refresh makes the offer available again during the campaign. The release gives no exact reset time or numerical redemption cap, directing customers to the app for further details.
The previous offer used a wider set of channels#
Wendy’s preceding promotion priced a small Classic Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty at $1 from July 20 through August 23. It covered restaurant, drive-thru, app and website orders, excluding delivery. The offer applied à la carte, with a limit of 10 per transaction. U.S. price and participation could vary, including higher prices in Alaska and Hawaii. The July Frosty announcement
The Frosty program did include a digital element. Rewards members received July 19 early access through an app offer, limited to one redemption per account. The main promotion then broadened access beyond that initial group.
The offers therefore use digital membership differently. For the dessert promotion, it provided a head start before the wider offer. For nuggets, the app is the required route throughout the announced period.
| Offer | Main promotional window | Participation distinction |
|---|---|---|
| $1 small Classic Frosty | July 20–August 23 | Multiple ordering channels; delivery excluded |
| $1.99 10-piece nuggets | August 24–September 27 | App offer and another purchase required; daily refresh |
Each main window spans 35 calendar days, counting both endpoints. Wendy’s offered the same length of promotional access through different channels and purchase terms.
A coupon differs from the earlier Biggie menu#
Wendy’s January 14 Biggie Deals launch illustrates another way it packaged value this year. The announced $6 Biggie Bag combined a choice of sandwich, four-piece nuggets, Jr. Fry and a small soft drink. Sandwich options were Crispy Chicken, Jr. Cheeseburger, Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger or Double Stack. The January Biggie Deals announcement
The $4 Biggie Bites first choice was Crispy Chicken, Jr. Cheeseburger, Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, four-piece nuggets or Jr. Fry. The second choice was four-piece nuggets, Jr. Fry or a small soft drink. An $8 Biggie Bundle paired two sandwiches from the Biggie Bag’s sandwich list with Jr. Fry and a small soft drink.
The January terms allowed price and participation to vary, with potentially higher prices in Alaska, California, Hawaii and through third-party delivery. The release excluded combo meals and left individual items at regular prices.
Those January packages put a price on a defined set of food and drink. The August offer discounts one item alongside a separate purchase. The August release does not say whether customers can combine the nugget coupon with those packages.
